Hmmm

So the weekend started out at happy hour with Ellyn... we tried to go to the new Library Bar around the corner from work, but I think everyone else in downtown LA had the same idea. It was pretty crowded, and although a cool spot, we decided it was way too loud for our taste, and headed over to the Daily Grill. It suited us well, and gave us a chance to catch up over a couple of beers and some appetizers. It was almost time for my parking garage to close, so we decided to get the car and move the party somewhere else. Well, Ellyn of all people is the one who has questioned if the rats are actually as bad as I say, and I must say that I was delighted to have seen a rat on our way to my car. It proved that there truly is a problem, and she experienced first hand what I go through every night!

Well, once safely in my car, we drove over to the Redwood, the pirate bar where I went the other night. We had a couple more drinks there before heading home.

Saturday, Stu went to school, and I scoped out some apartments that we found online. Unfortunately, we can't find what we want in our price range. Everything is either too small, in a bad location, or they won't allow a 6-month lease. All in all, we'll probably end up staying where we are which is fine. The reason for our search is that our rent keeps going up, and we really want a change.

Late in the afternoon, I looked out to the pool, and there was a total photo shoot going on! It must have been a band or something because there were 3 guys and a girl (with this bleached blonde wig on). I kept peeking through the blinds and managed to take this picture...

although it's not clear enough to figure out who it is! It seriously looked like Ashley Simpson and her band, but there is no way they would do a photo shoot at my apartment complex. I'm going to have to investigate this further with the building management!

Later on in the evening, Stu and I debated going to a movie, but ended up at our favorite bowling alley in Inglewood. As soon as we sat down at our lane, I notice the guy behind us has on a SC Gamecocks hat... so I asked if he actually went to school there, or if he just liked the hat, and it turns out that he actually went to school there. I told him I was a Clemson grad, and we managed to not speak the rest of the evening. Well, Stu and I had a great time, and I actually won the first game! Of course he came back and won the second, and then in the third, he only beat me by one pin... 131-130. However, we actually tied, but due to the computer not reading his tenth frame, and him having to re-bowl, he happened to knock down an extra pin, causing the debate. Oh well, can't win them all I guess.

Today, we just looked at more apartments and ran some errands in Glendale. We met up with Peck for Japanese food, and then made our way home to watch the Grammy's. Yay for the Dixie Chicks!
