It was a slow weekend, nothing too exciting... Friday night started again at SCI-Arc where Fridays at Five was nothing to write home about, so we just hung out in Stu's studio bay for a little while with Josh and his dog Sadie. We eventually made our way to Los Feliz with Peck, where we went to Fatburger for dinner and then to The Vista for Pan's Labyrinth. It's a Spanish film set in the 1940's, where the fantasy's of a young girl are played out in a postwar fascist time. Entertaining, although not a genre I would typically see. Stu and John seemed to really enjoy it, and although it was a story of magic and wonder, it was overly violent.
Saturday, we worked out in the gym at our apartment complex, fortunately before the landscapers put a palm tree through the glass door, which caused the loudest explosion I've heard outside my bedroom window since I've lived here. Anyway, after a long phone conversation with my dad, pondering the musical genius of Bob Dylan, and much encouragement on his part for me to see the latest Bond film on the big screen, I headed to work for a few hours to finish up some things I didn't get to on Friday. Stu worked at school for most of the day, and we met up at home later on to relax a bit before heading over to Perry's. Perry and Julie fixed a mexican fiesta for us to enjoy, and later we tried to go out, but ended up back at Perry's to watch the men's finals of the Australian Open. Federer is unstoppable.
Because the match wasn't over until after 3am last night, we slept in most of the morning. Stu headed back to school, and I ran errands and cleaned the apartment. So it's almost Monday again. Yippee.
